Clear glowing skin

Wednesday 14 June 2017
I have always struggled with acne since I was around 12 and over the years although it has gotten better I have learnt how to look after my skin. I often notice when I do something out of my normal routine as my face will break out and I will feel like I am 14 again. As I have gotten older I have also learnt how important it is to look after your skin.

1.     Drink more water.
This is so important often we don’t monitor how much water we drink, which often means we don’t drink enough. It’s important to get 8 glasses a day, it also important to cut back on sugar drinks and soda as they are often the reason we break out.

2.     Cleanse morning and night
I didn’t realise how important this one was until I started cleansing my face both morning and night. I started to notice just how much clearer my skin was but not only how much clearer but also brighter and softer. I am also someone who get dark under eyes and cleansing morning and night I have found helps with that.

3.     Take off makeup
I know, it is such a drag. There have been many times I don’t feel like taking my make up off. I work night shift as well so often when I get home I just want to go straight to sleep, however, if I don’t take my make-up I can expect at least three new spots when I wake up which is never a good thing. While taking my make up off will always feel like a chore, I keep make-up wipes next to my bed so for those nights where I really can’t be bothered cleansing and taking my make up off properly I am still ensuring most of my make-up is off and my skin can breathe

4.     Monitor stress levels
When I am stressed I break out, there is no other way to put it. My skin reacts to how I am feeling on the inside so it is important to acknowledge when you are stressed and take the appropriate actions against it. For me; it’s knowing that every Monday morning after I have been to the gym that I can get Starbucks (my naughty treat for the week) and sit by the beach, for you; it might be eating popcorn and watching Netflix. Whatever it may be, remember to set aside time for yourself when you are stressed.

5.     Watch the food you put in your body
If I eat crap my skin looks like crap there is no way around it. If I eat sugary foods or those high in fat my skin will let me know that I haven’t been eating right and it will break out. Therefore, I have learnt to watch what I eat but also giving myself a little treat every now and again because it is about balance and we can’t always be perfect.

What are your skincare tips? Do you agree with mine?

My Everyday Autumn Make Up Bag

Sunday 7 May 2017
These are the products I currently have and use in my everyday make up bag, I am obsessed with all these products and have used most of them for quite a while.

Nutrimetics Blushing Face Palette:
I have talked about this product before you can check it out here on my 'Everyday Make up Favourites' post, here on my 'Creating A Cruelty Free make up Bag' post and here on my 'December 2016 Favourites' post.

Za Perfect Action Mascara Snudgeproof
I have talked about this product before you can check it out here on my 'Everyday Make up Favourites' post, here on my 'Creating A Cruelty Free make up Bag' post and here on my 'January & february 2017 Favourites' post.

L.A. Girl Matte Flat finish Pigment Gloss Rebel
I am currently obsesssed with this lip product and the colour of it. I have always like dark, bright ~I know that doesn't really make sense~ lip colours like this and I love the matte look. I did go through a  nude phase last year but I have gone back to dark colours and I am truly in love with this.

Covergirl ready Set Gorgeous Light
I have talked about this product before you can check it out  here on my 'Creating A Cruelty Free make up Bag' post. Although I will not be pruchasing this product again I to currently like using it and i really life the formula they use.

Rimmel London Lasting Finish 103 True ivory
I have talked about this product before you can check it out  here on my 'Creating A Cruelty Free make up Bag' post. I also will not be repurchasing this product however I love the formula and the coverage this foundation gives.

Elizabeth Arden Lip Pencil Orchid
I love this lip pencil, I use this under the matte 'lipgloss' to give a little moisture and to give the lip colour a little bit of brightness, it also makes my lip colour last a lot longer.

What make up products do you use everyday? Do you use and love any of these products?

Skincare Tips

Sunday 19 March 2017
Skincare is something that is important and it should be. Today I share with you, my top skincare tips to have glowing, healthy skin.

1. Have a skincare routine and stick to it.
I have a skincare routine that I stick to morning and night. They are both different but equally important. It's important that I have one both in the morning at night because I wear makeup almost every day thus it is important to both prepare my skin when I am putting it on and making sure it is all off when I go to bed each night.

2. It isn't just about your face, your neck, shoulders, elbows and the rest of your body matters too!
Skincare isn't just about taking care of your face, it's also about the rest of your body. It's about shaving/waxing your underarms legs on the regular (If you do at all) not waiting for it to get crazy long, and moisturizing your legs, putting ointment on scars and everything in between skincare is about all of your skin not just your face.

3. Protect your skin ALWAYS.
Always wear sunscreen. I admit that I am not one that does this every day because I have oily skin and don't like how the two react, however, I am on the hunt for a face sunscreen that I can wear every day that will not cause me to breakout so leave your suggestions in the comments below!

4.  Stop eating processed sugar.
Sugar makes you feel gross and breaks out skin, try and reduce the amount of processed sugars you eat and as a result; your body and skin will thank you for it.

5. Dab don't push.
Don't push your skin in all sorts of ways in order to rub in creams. Be soft and lightly dab on creams and lotions or whatever else you put on your skin. This will ensure you don't get premature wrinkles

6. Drink water.
It's good for you and good for your skin.

Everyday Make Up Favourites

Wednesday 15 February 2017

I have my favourites that i write every month or bimonthly but I don't really show you the products that I use everyday that I love at some point or another I am sure I have had these things in a favourites post but I wanted to write this post to tell you in a little more detail.

1. Nutrimetics Blushing Palette
I have tried to downsize my make up considerably for multiple reasons. I love this palette because it has a highlight, counter and blush colour which is amazing and I also love the colours in it, the tones of the contour is beautiful and I am obsessed with it. When I am also travelling and don't want to take to much make up or beauty products with me I use this on my eyes as well. I pop the contour shade on my crease and lid and the highlight shade in my inner corner.

2. Elizabeth Arden Brush
I love this brush and I use it for so many things. I apply my foundation and counter with real techniques brushes, which I have mentioned before, however the Elizabeth Arden brush is awesome to apply blush, highlight, bronzer and everything in between.

3. Za Perfect Action Smudgeproof Mascara
I have tried so many mascaras! I have used different Chanel, Elizabeth Arden, Maybelline, and so many others however I have never liked one like I love this one. I have naturally pretty short lashes and I am going to be cfmepleyey honest I am pretty sure my lashes have grown since using it, I have never though I would like a mascara but i do. I don't know if my lashes have really grown or I have just convinced myself that they have but this mascara is truly amazing!

4. Nutrimetics Glimmer Stick Shadow
I use this eyeshadow stick in my everyday make up routine like all of these products however this one is easy to use, although it can be hard to blend it won't come off during the day and it looks like you have put in a lot more effort when you wear this shadow.

What are your favourite everyday make up products? Do you use any of these products?

Creating A Cruelty Free Make Up Bag

Sunday 15 January 2017

Another one of my goals this year that I haven't spoken about on my blog is being cruelty-free, in terms of beauty products (eventually vegan, however, good things take time and isn't something I plan on doing straight away). I have no idea what of my current beauty products are cruelty-free, but I definitely want to make my beauty a little less cruel. While I'm not going to throw any products out when it comes to needing to buy new stuff I am going to buy cruelty-free. I thought I would share with you a list of the brands that I currently use and whether they are cruelty-free or not.

If they have YES next to them they are cruelty free, and if NO they are not. If there is anything else written next to them they also have an explanation.

Chanel - NO this one I'm really sad about because I use their CC cream and I love it my favourite eyeshadow is also a Chanel (which have about two uses left) thus, I am going to have to find a new favourite make-up brand.

Elizabeth Arden- SORT OF, I am also really sad about this one! While Elizabeth Arden is cruelty-free they do state that they test on animals where required by law, they also sell in China which means they do test on animals. I won't be repurchasing this brand. I love the eight-hour cream and some of my favourite products are from Elizabeth Arden but it isn't worth it!

Real Techniques - YES! I was so pleased about this because I love the brushes so much!

Nutrimetics- YES

Natio - YES

Rimmel London- NO

Australis - YES

Formula 10.0.6- YES (Thank Goodness)

ColourPop- YES

Covergirl- NO

Revlon- SORT OF, This is another brand that claims it is cruelty-free however they sell in China where it is required by law to test on animals, so no it isn't.

e.l.f.- YES

Za - YES

Tanya Burr Cosmetics- YES

These are just some of my beauty product brands that I currently own and in all honesty I am pleasantly surprised while there are companies I am extremely disappointed in *Cough* Chanel *Cough* and others I was disappointed that they sold in China, although Elizabeth Arden is working with organizations they still sell in China which they can't really defend themselves on. You can check out their statement here.

**After writing this post I have decided to get rid of my beauty products that aren't cruelty-free (bye, bye Chanel), I am however keeping my Elizabeth Arden products until they are all used. This is because of the amount of Elizabeth Arden and the cost of Elizabeth Arden I have. I will NOT be repurchasing Elizabeth Arden until they are cruelty-free. I am also going to be getting rid of the products that I am not sure of.

Did any of these brands surprise you? Are your beauty products cruelty-free?
